Maple Syrup Muffins

 ¼ cup margarine (I use butter)
 ½ cup white sugar
 1 tsp salt
 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
 2 tsp baking powder
 ¾ cup rolled oats
 ½ cup milk
 ½ cup maple syrup
Glaze
 1 tbsp butter
 ½ cup icing sugar
 1 tbsp maple syrup

Soften margarine (or butter), and blend in sugar and salt.

Add dry ingredients and blend with pastry cutter until crumbly.
Mix in oats.

Blend milk and syrup together in a measuring cup and pour over dry ingredients stirring only to moisten.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Spread glaze over muffins when slightly cooled.

Yields 8 large muffins.
